Thanks, I'll see if I can get to it this weekend though it's a busy one. Again, I thank you guys for all the hand holding.

I would remove any instance you created with putty and follow the steps here https://www.synology.com/en-uk/knowledge..._container

I'll give that a try but are you suggesting I delete the current container as well?
I did see this in my searching but went to their forum and a few people had suggestions which is what I ended up doing.

If you can start fresh I think that is best. You will need an approach that allows updating "latest" as easily as possible.

Well, I didn't get as far along on this try as the first one. I'm not going to have too much time the rest of the weekend and another few days to work much with it so I think I'll stick with testing the Windows version for now and as it matures, maybe try it later.
It's a good thing the folks on Silicon's forum made theirs into a package as I would have never gotten theirs to work either. And, I don't want to take any more of your time on this as running on the NAS is not a deal buster for me at all. I've had a version of NextPVR on Windows for 15 years? Man, that's a long time!

Hi, apologies for the thread hijack, but I'm also trying to get NextPVR 5.x working with a Synology NAS in docker. I've managed to get the container up and running and logged in to setup devices (IPTV).

Unfortunately when I try and play a channel, any channel, I get an error message "Recording Failed (transcoder exited)". I was actually trying to watch the show live rather than record.

I confirmed that the streams are working correctly.

ffmpeg is installed on the Synology base platform.

Any ideas?

Edit: Just noticed that recordings seem to be working, and I've managed to get the Recording directory mapped to a Shared Folder on the NAS so Plex can see the recordings! Perfect Smile

You need to investigate other clients. https://forums.nextpvr.com/forumdisplay....er-Clients The web browser was never designed a a primary PVR client. That being said you probably should open a new thread attaching the logs for your problem, since IPTV should be be able to play in a browser. It could be a simple as not configuring the live folder in docker.

Thanks. That was exactly it! I mapped the buffer directory to a shared folder/volume and live tv started working. The first show took about 90 seconds to initiate, the next about 10 seconds but working fine now.
