dual processor

I have a pentium III 500/100(fsb) dual prossesor Compaq. Has anyone tried building a PVR with a dual processor, or have any thoughts on why this would not work, I sure would appreciate it! BTW it has 512Mb memory, but I can put up to 1Gb.
