As I'm working on recreating things from my production system on my test v5 system, I've found another issue.

I have a manual recording with advance rules to automatically record all series premiers. And I can't figure out how to create such a recording with v5 right now. The web app Scheduler | + button let's met create a manual recording, but it doesn't have a field for the Advance Rules and it won't allow me to select "Any Channel". Using the Remote UI via knewc, I can go to the Recordings hidden menu and select Man-Rec which will allow me to set the Channel to "Any Channel", but won't let me change the Name from "Default" nor enter anything in the Advance Rules field.

Am I missing something? It has been a LONG time since I last created a Manual Recording with v4, so I don't recall exactly how I did it there.

You can't do it in the web app yet. Behind the scenes, the recording engine still supports it though. You can run the windows nextpvr.exe client, and do it along the lines of what you were trying - ie manual record, and enter the advanced rules.

I'm intending to create some sort of advanced web page for recording on all sorts of different criteria.

I will check with UI client it might be then you need to use uppercase keys to avoid issues with Kodi keyboard mapping nlite, might be better. Running NextPVR isn't an option for me on a linux backend.

D'oh! I forgot about the Windows client. I generally think that the Remote UI client is the same functionality as the Windows client, so didn't even think about it.

But went to the server and tried it, and it worked!

The filename and advanced rules fields use a different sort of keyboard notification, so that can use national characters, like umlaut characters etc. It sounds like maybe I've not hooked up that logic for the Remote UI stuff?

Ok yes I tested with nlite and knewc and UI clients don't seem to be able to change the text fields.

Just wondering if there's any update to the problem of not being able to do manual recordings using the web app?

What I need is to ba able to input a start and stop time.

You mean advanced manual recordings I assume. Sub didn't say he was doing the advance recording for this release so just follow the announcement thread. Then you don't have to post the question every release. I see this as more a V6 feature since sub has started work on .Net 6.

I agree I can be too frank, I could have just just said no not yet, but I don't want to see everyone posting questions about things that aren't in the release notes. I can add you to my ignore list if you wish.
