I'm really stumped on this one.  I can add a Hive's channel w/ m3u & epg , set a few recordings and will record perfect all day without transcoding.  When the following day arrives every recording fails because ffmpeg is trying to transcode.  If I delete the channel and re-add then the scheduled recordings take off fine again.  How would I go about troubleshooting this odd behavior?

As always start with posting the logs.

The log is attached.

nrecord.log.1;  Recordings were failing on channel X I so recreated a Hive IPTV device on 10/31 @ 21:37.  It's the only way I can get recordings to work again.

nrecord.log;  Finished creating Hive IPTV device on 10/31 @ 12:51 still containing series schedules on the same channel X.

nrecord.log;  Next program in series schedule started recording channel X on 10/31 @ 22:00 which chunked fine and recording completed intact @ 23:00.

nrecord.log;  Next program in series schedule started recording channel X on 11/01 @ 06:00 which involked ffmpeg.exe.  This recording and two more subsequent recordings failed until these logs were collected.

Seems ffmpeg is the problem, perhaps by causing cpu overload or other issue.

The logs are different enough that sub should be able to explain why the @3.5.1 step is being called. Are you sure the URL's are static?

Not sure what you mean by static. How would I determine?

Download the m3u file on one day and on the next and make sure they are same.

I know every time I recreate the Hive device and it scans the m3u the channel count changes +/- 10 or so channels. I would have to collect and compare for more detail. What specifically would you look for change in the m3u or should I just post the two?

I wouldn't post them just find the url for one stream that works one day and check the list the next day see if it is the same.

You say it might be a cpu overload with ffmpeg but I suspect the files it is transcoding are 0 bytes long.

I can download Beast m3u in my browser but not Hive. Does it take a URL tweak with Hive?  Hive just plays a livestream, no "save as".

Probably but ask their support <g> If there is a way to configure it with IPTV simple, try one day and see if it works the next
