I've been using NextPVR on Windows 10 for years, and now I intend to switch completely to Linux. Of course, I would like to use NextPVR on Linux as well. I also tried other DVB solutions for Linux, but none really did what I wanted.

So I installed NextPVR on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, and with some help from this forum, I also got it working.

Unfortunately, the channel scan does not find any channels. The correct driver for my two Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD DVB devices is installed and working. The devices are correctly detected, and w_scan and kaffeine both find all DVB-T2 channels. NextPVR finds none.

What am I missing?

You missed posting the logs.  NextPVR doesn't use w_scan it uses dvbv5scan so for proper confirmation you need to stop the NextPVR service since it locks devices and try a dvbv5scan

Here are the logs as requested:
.zip   logs-20191106-1717.zip (Size: 12.65 KB / Downloads: 3)

I have no idea how to use dvbv5-scan. Without any options, I only get a short overview of several options. But this does not help me. What is meant by"initial file"? "/dev/null" does not work, and the man-pages don't help me either.

I don't much about DVB scanning since we don't have it here in Canada but the scan file you picked for that set of logs doesn't have any DVB-T2 channels. If your region isn't showing there is a bigger list here

You basically just run:

dvbv5-scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/uk-CrystalPalace

but choosing an appropriate tuning file (other than uk-CrystalPalace I've shown here has an example)

You may need to run the following if you don't have that directory.
sudo apt install dtv-scan-tables

If dvbv5-scan doesn't find any channels, you might need to look in that scan file, to check it has the correct frequencies for your region (since lots of UK frequencies have been changing recently)

That is installed by the deb installer, the one he picked was wrong.

I tried it with de-Niedersachsen (that's the region in Germany where I live) and auto-Default (which scans many more frequencies). No DVB-T2 channels are found :-(

If dvbv5-scan isn't finding them, then it's unlikely NextPVR would, since we both use the same Linux TV api.

Did you check if that file contains your DVB-T2 frequencies? It seems to be pretty common that these Linux files are out of date.
