"Now playing" for music radio

I was listening to DVB-T radio on a friend's TV, and on screen it told me the title and artist of the track that was playing.
Is there an option to get this displayed in NPVR.
(BBC Radio 2 from the Mendip transmitter)

I don't think I've ever seen this info in New Zealand streams. If you want to use the evaluation version of TSCapture (from https://tscapture.com) to record a 1 minute full ts, and put the file somewhere like onedrive or dropbox, and let me know the download location, I'll take a look.

I'd be interested in a link too, I know Kodi supports something called RDS and I don't have any files that have this type of data

I did a quick capture. There seems to be very few channels that include this info - half a dozen BBC radio channels.

Beautiful Ghosts Taylor Swift BBCR2capture.ts
is the single channel for BBC radio 2 while Beautiful Ghosts by Taylor Swift was playing

Full Transport Stream capture.ts
is the whole frequency just afterwards hopefully while the same track was playing.

@martin123 do you know which streams in your sample have the RDS data. I tried Radio 6 but wasn't sure if it was there.

Radio 1 and Radio 2 do for sure. I'll check the others shortly

p.s.  In the UK and maybe Europe RDS data generally would be understood as data included with the analogue VHF FM frequencies mainly intended for vehicles.

It looks like all the BBC radio stations have a description of what is currently being broadcast - show description, who the presenters are, or music track description.
