Okay just for haha's I just tried in NPVR. tuned a couple of different channels. It is working. I think it may have had to do with changing the Opendct property from false to true.
Thanks for all your help. Now I just need to clean this up on my end. Dave

That's positive news, I now need to update my script to turn off the logging, and make a note in the instructions to check the property for when I transfer this to the wiki.
You may want to check why you changed that property for SageTV, I confirmed the setting I used is the default. For the browser test did you change the transcoder option or did it just work? Martin

As a "backup" I installed the 32-bit version just so I have my TV back. I tried to run steps 5 - 7 but again, saw no confirmation that anything had happened. Will try again either today or tomorrow.

@Jeff you might as well keep using the debug version, the zip is fine until you are up and running
What do you see at the command prompt with python opendct.py DISCOVERY If nothing check that the "SageTV OpenDCT" service is running. The discovery protocol uses UDP port 8271 by default Note trhis is only important if you aren't on localhost with port 9000. If you are using port 9000 and localhost with 8271 firewalled and port 9000 open for TCP you can still confirm OpenDCT with python opendct.py VERSION If that doesn't work no point in moving to step 7.
