First....does the PVR350 support Live Preview mode if I'm using the TV-OUT functionality? If so, I don't seem to be able to get that to work. If not, then oh well.

Secondly...I'm getting a hard lock (can't move mouse, must physically turn off the computer and turn it back on) of the computer when I go to watch TV and then switch channels. Now, since I'm in timeshift mode, I don't know if this has anything to do with it. Everything works just great when i'm not using the TV-OUT mode of the 350. Here is my log. I went in and started to watch a channel. Exited out back to the main menu then went right back in and then tried to change the channel.

I've attached the log as a txt file.

No Live Preview mode does not apply to the PVR350. Live TV is in timeshift mode on this device.

When you get a hard lock, it is a problem with the drivers. Many people have had this problem in the past (with both GB-PVR and SageTV). I've spent a lot of time looking into this in the past, but am no longer looking at the issue (and I'm sick of hearing about it).

Sorry, but if the problem persists, you'll need to switch to using software decoding.

Sounds like you have the "via bug". It's very common for people with Via circuits and the pvr-350. I gave up on watching live tv, I never got it to work. Some people have reported getting better mileage with the latest and greatest drivers from shspvr:

Remember, you can *almost* get live tv timeshifted by scheduling the program you want to watch, and then start watching it off the "pending" section of recordings. That's what I do. Obviously, switching channels is not as easy, but at least less hassle than hard resetting your box ;-)

No...thats fine....thanks for the info.....i've been thinking of selling the 350 and buying a 150 and a MVP anyways....I'm using the original pundit so I have never really been pleased with the software decoder because the on board video chipset on the Pundit is less than stellar. If I had a chipset I could be using the software decoder with then I don't know if I'd be using GBPVR...i might be using Mediaportal.....don't get me wrong, GBPVR is a great product and you have done a fantastic job on it, but I've using it because it supports the TV-Out feature. My on board video just doesn't cut it with the software decoder.....unless some other Pundit owner has some ideas for me. I have also been thinking of selling my PVR350 and PVR250 and buying a PVR500 so I can free up the second PCI slot on the Pundit for a better Graphics card.

I'm using the original pundit so the VIA chipset issue shouldn't be in play here....thanks for the info though.

Fair enough.

BTW, I absolutely agree that the PVR350 picture is worlds better than any software decoder I've seen, but at the end of the day this device has driver issues which I just cant work around no matter how much I try.
