Hi all,
Have set up Next PVR at my parents house with a HDHomeRun (4 tuner).
I've tested remote viewing of the saved items (as I wanted to make sure it works in case they want to watch things whilst they are away) and was greeted with the error above.
Have pasted in relevant parts of the log file.
I noticed in an older v4 thread it said about trying a newer version of ffmpeg or v5, should I still try a newer ffmpeg, or is the one bundled with the latest version ok?

Any thoughts appreciated :-)

As it was saying the post was too long, have moved the log to a pastebin

It's relatively new

2020-02-07 18:52:56.876 [DEBUG][41] [FFMPEG]: ffmpeg version 4.2 Copyright © 2000-2019 the FFmpeg developers

but you could try and replacing it with a newer version. Transcoding is failing

2020-02-07 18:53:06.632 [DEBUG][37] [FFMPEG]: Conversion failed!

Does it work from files stored on a local drive it is taking a long time to start transcoding.

The files are stored on another machine.
I had to make a change actually, as I was running from a script, but installed it as a service, and as such, I needed to get the service to run as a user, and it wouldn't accept mapped drives, so changed to UNC paths.
Playback works fine through Kodi, just not via the web interface

Kodi is direct play so no comparison. Upload the first 50 MB sample of the file Richard Osmans House of Games_20200207_18001830.ts to a cloud storage site and we can see. You can use CutChunk https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/CutChunk to get the sample.

That recording is definitely a mess and won't play here without a remux either. Are you running the tuner in HDHR mode or DVB? If DVB do you have the HDHR software BDA mode set for MediaPortal mode since NextPVR mode is not recommended.

Have switched BDA compatability to MediaPortal from NextPVR.
It's strange, there are some things that can be streamed, and some that can't... I'm wondering if it's things from certain channels...
Same with watching live.
Some work, some don't.

Will investigate more and see if it's specific channels.

Are you having problems with just the browser client, or true direct play client like Kodi and NextPVR.exe?

I can help you with the browser transcode string that didn't work with your last file.

Kodi works fine.
It was just with browser client.
BBC Channels (in the UK) don't work.. ITV, Channel 4 etc are fine.
Pick TV works ok, Quest doesn't.
I'm assuming it may be how they are originally broadcast?

Not sure. The ffmpeg command that NextPVR uses didn't work with the sample stream you provided because there was an audio stream missing in the data, that may be the satellite source or the HDHR firmware.

Like I posted I could give you a setup option that probably will work in the browser if you needed it. If you want iit, you will have to settle on whether you want h/w decoding or not since sub only allows one ffmpeg override.
