Is it possible to read the following lines in the XMLTV file to flag shows in guide with a Finale tag? This is what's received from the Schedule Direct JSON file.

<last-chance>Season Finale</last-chance>
<last-chance>Series Finale</last-chance>

Thanks

That is xml not json and NextPVR does support a finale tag it shows as a green FIN the browser. This isn't really last chance though.

Sorry I meant from Schedule Directs JSON service. Nextpvr does support Finale flag in v4 using the xml entry "<category>Season Finale</category>". I can see it when viewing the show details. I'm asking if Nextpvr can add the Schedule Directs output line to flag Season and Series Finale's.

Thanks

I'm not sure I follow you. NextPVR will already high season/series finales in it's TV guide if you're using the Schedules Direct json service. You might need to enable the 'highlight new shows' setting on the Settings->General tab for these to show up.

I wasn't importing directly from SD in Nextpvr.  I'm using MC2XML to download to XML file to use in other software. I do this so I would only pull from SD once daily instead of doing multiple downloads from each software.

However, to test I did change the Guide to use SD directly and confirmed the FIN indicator does show in the Guide. It just doesn't do it when importing from an xml file. I used the listing 9-1-1: Lone Star airing next Monday which is a Series Finale to test between using SD directly or importing from an xml file. Only using SD directly showed the Finale indicator.

Thank you. I appreciate you quick response. Nextpvr is great. I switched from Plex and this works much better as a DVR.

Thanks,
Thomas

Seriously, you should consider just using SD directly in NextPVR. It's incremental, so only does a smaller update each day (after the first update), to fetch the additions and changes, so you're not really saving a lot.

Also, when you use SD directly, you also get extra features that you don't get when you're using it via XMLTV, like more accurate and quicker artwork etc.

If you want to supply a sample file, I'll look into adding support for this. As mentioned above, you'd just be better off using SD directly.

I will start using SD directly in NPVR as you suggested. Thank you again for your quick reply.

Thanks,
Thomas

I see an issue in the Guide for PREM and FIN flags. These flags do appear in the Guide if no recording is scheduled. But after the recording is scheduled the flag changes to New. So if I'm recording a series I would never see which show is the Finale.

Capture pic 1 shows the FIN flag for Hawaii Five-O. Notice the FIN flag after the recording is scheduled.

Capture pic 2 shows the flag changed to New after leaving the Guide. The change doesn't happen until you leave the TV Guide and go back in.

Can you change this so the PREM and FIN flags stay in the Guide view?

Thank you.

Cheers - I've found the cause of this and fixed for the next build.
