I stopped the NextPVR service and did the un-install again ... Got a NextPVRserver command window with the attached.

Is it repeatable for you? I just tried in Windows Sandbox (which is like a clean Windows VM everytime you run it) and it seemed to uninstall ok.

Yes.  I found nextpvruninstall.exe and ran that and it uninstalled as expected ... then I deleted all traces of beta versions and registry entries.  Ran installer again from scratch and scanned for channels (to prove that the install was okay).

Attempt at uninstall from Windows Settings "Remove Programs" again failed with the same event log errors as previously.

I have Windows 7 - Hauppauge dcr - 2650 - NextPVR - HDhomerun - WMC - MediaPortal - and probably others I downloaded the past week. I'm a dummy when it comes to this stuff. All I want to do is watch and record TV on my computer with some TV Guide.
I'm lost.
At present I can watch TV on NextPVR and HDhomerun but i don't have TV Guide and I don't know how to record.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Certainly posting in this topic makes little sense so always best to start a new post.  Read through the wiki https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki and start a new thread when you are serious about which backend you want to use.

If you were previously a WMC users and wish to stay on Win7 I'd suggest getting a Schedules Direct account and configuring EPG123 to get your guide data https://epg123.garyan2.net/install/.  If that doesn't meet your needs the SD account will be simplify the NextPVR setup and any other backends you wish to use.

Thanks Martin, Obviously I don't know backend from frontend. Once I figure it out I'll start a new thread.

NextPVR Server runs in the background ... The only evidence that you see is the "N" icon in the tray in the bottom right corner ... NextPVR Server is the backend that is repsonsible for communicating with tuner devices and for making recordings on disk ... NextPVR Server starts automagically and runs all of the time.

Several frontends are avialable to access and control NextPVR ... You can control the tasks performed by NextPVR Server using client software including the NextPVR Webapp, NextPVR Player client software and NextPVR addons in the Kodi software application.
