What type of tuner would ye guys recommend for saorview.

I know it uses DVB-T, but i'm confused as to whether it's T or T2

Thanks in advance.

Saorview is dvb-t according to Wikipedia ... But a t2 device can receive dvb-t channels ... If you want to be future proof ...

My view is that there are two choices ...1) Hauppauge ... 2) Everything else ... I have tried several different brands during the last 15 years ... And I plan to stick with Hauppauge.

Would something like this work even thought it doesn't explicitly say it can receive DVB-T signals? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nooelec-NESDR-S...B01HA642SW

I'm pretty sure that is just a radio device. You'd probably want a device like the Hauppauge WinTV dualHD, which will give you two tuners.

What would be the difference between a 20 pound tuner and a 60 pound one? Is it just picture quality?

Picture quality should be the same, since it’s digital, but cheap no-name devices often have buggy drivers that don’t always work right. That more expensive Hauppauge one is also dual tuner, so you can be watching on channel and recording another etc, or recording two channels etc.

In my experience ... I tried cheap and was forever fiddling with it (drivers mostly) ... I am still using two Hauppauge tuners that I bought about 16 years ago.

Edit ... Have a look at HDHomeRun devices ... Not cheap but very versatile.
