Its a simple Windows client that just works!  No setup required!

It mimics nextpvr.exe ... Get nextpvr.exe running on the same machine as NextPVR Server ... Start nlite on the server machine or on another machine and it should look exactly the same as the original nextpvr.exe

nlite automatically connects to a NextPVR server process ... nlite might get in a pickle if you are running more than one NextPVR server process, such as V4 and V5, at the same time.

Also, if I have to run nextpvr what utility does nlite offer me?

nlite offers nothing that NextPVR doesn't offer on the host PC. It does run on other network clients and other OS platforms which NextPVR does not do.

Apologies ... I was ambiguous ... nextpvr.exe does not need to be running when nlite is running ...

What should happen ... you get nextpvr.exe running as you want it with, for example, the correct aspect ratio and all that.  You can then shut nextpvr.exe.  nlite can then be run on the same machine (i.e. the machinne running NextPVR Server) or on another machine (under Windows or Linux) and should look the same as nextpvr.exe did.

Having said all that ... I am now downloading and running nlite to make sure that what I have said is still true ...

I have now run nlite V5 under Windows and nlite does display in 4:3 and not 16:9 so I have replicated that problem

When watching Live TV ... I pressed ... down arrow ... and a list of channels appeared and I was able to select a channel ... also, the + and - keys worked to change channels.

I get 16:9 here. What shape is your monitor, and what resolution are you running?

There is no context menu you that you'd normally get in nextpvr.exe, but you should be able to do all the standard things you do with a keyboard/remote in nextpvr.exe, including tv guide, scheduling recordings etc.

If you're intending to view NextPVR on Windows, on the same machine as you're running the NextPVR server, then just use nextpvr.exe. Nlite is option for when you want the client on a different machine to the server, or on a different platform like Linux/Mac.

Hi sub, my monitor is setted 1920x1080 and has no problem about in nextpvr.exe.
Nevertheless, really I don't need nlite beeing able to run nextpvr, I was only exploring all that is offered in this excellent product to verify its potential.
