When I record programs I just wonder what the other files are that appear in the recorded folder?

For instance, there is always a ".temp M3U8 file", a .xml file, and two other video files.  The two other files are the recording which is always recorded at a large bitrate, and another .temp TS file that typically is of a much lower bitrate, that timewise lasts about half the time of the main recording.

Just interested!

Perhaps you have auto transcoding turned on.  It is optional and really not necessary unless you use the web browser..

I do record on the web browser. I might be missing something but the .exe program on the pc only lists the programs on for that day.

What values do you have in Transcode Settings ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Add...e-settings

Are you intending to *watch* in the browser? If not, then it's not really worth having the auto transcoding enabled.

Normally after successful conversion, it'll delete the original file, and rename the .temp.ts files to .ts. Either you looked at it while it was still converting the recordings, or for some reason it had a problem with the conversion.

Hi sub - thanks for your help.  I have looked at the settings and readjusted them as below - seems to be working fine now, just getting used to the program I guess.
