Hi guys,

Where can I adjust the quality of a desired recording/schedule?  I see there is a possible option in the JSON, but don't see any GUI element that would let me modify it.

You can't that is from the analog era. Years ago I asked for sub to improve SD vs HD differencing on tuners and recordings but it got no traction. For know it is up to manually setting it up.

I can live with manual. But I can't figure out how to do it, could you point it out please?

On a side note, I noticed this is written in .net which I've written some code in before. If this project is on GitHub I could maybe contribute a couple features.

It is closed source sub did it all.

Keep your SD and HD unmerged and manage recordings and live TV however you'd like perhaps by group.. it is all brute force. Keep SD to what you really need disk space is cheap and iptv is reduced quality anyway.

Martin.

Thanks Martin.

I haven't done anything to merge the channels.

I have over 200TB local here and many 4k IPTV super high quality channels (I'm impressed), so don't want SD especially when HD or UHD is on at the same time.

Just can't figure out how to do a simple thing.

When it comes to IPTV, or digital tuners, or HomeRun style tuners, the broadcaster or IPTV provider decides the quality/bitrate etc.

This quality setting is really just a thing from the past, when everyone was using analog tuners, and NextPVR (or a tuner with hardware encoder) was having to encode the audio/video streams. ie, it's no longer relevent.

The closest you get is the 'auto transcode recordings' settings, which can be used to post-process a recordings to a specific resolution (and into a format that can be streamed easily to a web browser). Realistically it's not worth using this setting (and the taking the extra cpu/gpu hit) unless you're intending to regularly use the web browser to view recordings.

Apologies for being unclear, but appreciate the detailed response.

What I meant is, where can I set a recording to be the HD only version and not SD. The "record series" button keeps picking SD channels instead of their HD or UHD counterparts.

It's gonna use whatever channel you tell it to make a recurring recording from. If you're do an 'all channels' type recording, it'll likely record whatever airing is found first. It's not going to take any notice to whether a channel has got 'HD' or 'SD' in the name, and often these mean nothing.

I could look into some sort of channel priority in the future.

If you want it to use a specific HD channel, you're probably best to tell it to use that channel for the recording rather than an 'all channels' recording.

Yes but how? When I click on the listing name in guide, from the hd channel, it pops up, I click series... Then it proceeds to record from the SD channel instead.

When clicking on the recording schedule, no option anywhere to select the channel.

What am I missing?
