Hi,
I am having quite a few failures to record scheduled shows (only around half succeed!).
Also, in NextPVR.exe:
• going to ‘Live TV’ rarely works (once ever I think).
• From the TV guide>double click on currently broadcasting program opens a menu> Selecting ‘Watch’ is more likely to play the program, but yesterday I had to reboot the PC to get this to work.  Mostly it will report “Unable to find available capture device (Device failed to start)”

It seems there’s a LOT of fails, but many only occur intermittently.  What can I do to make this reliable?  Can anyone help?

I’ve attached logs from yesterday.

You should have downloaded the zip file from the browser via the settings page rather via a manual zip. You missed all the current logs and if you upgraded to the current release don't see

Some of the signal strength locks are bad, you are having driver issues too, but some on the issue sub will need to look at. Does it work different if the tuners aren't primed?

There is some case of the device failing to start in those logs:

Make sure the device is not in-use by any other software, and maybe also make sure you're using the most recent driver.

Ultimately NextPVR needs to be able to rely on a device working if you're to expect reliable results.

Thanks for your advice Martin,
Win10 stated that the current drivers were the most suitable.  Still, I downloaded the latest driver from Hauppage's web site (dated 2018) and installed them.  It seems to have helped!  Live TV and Watch both now work.
I promise to do the logs properly next time.
If any further problems, I'll try it with tuners unprimed.

Thanks for your advice Sub.  I have installed the most recent drivers for the Hauppage card (apologies for not earlier acknowledging that was your suggestion) and prior to trying NextPVR I uninstalled all other TV apps I'd tried (Media Portal 2 & 1).  Rebooting the PC seems to fix the problem of 'Device failed to start'.  Yesterday afternoon, no program could be watched due to that error.  After I rebooted, everything was fine.  Today, 12 hours later, it's still working.  After some time (maybe a couple of days) something in the system seems to get 'tired' and needs the reboot.  I guess I could set up a Windows Scheduler task to reboot every day, but this surely this work-around shouldn't be needed.  Do you have any suggestions?  Logs attached.

So you let your machine go to sleep, or is it always awake? It's possible the driver isn't handling power management correctly, and would behave better if it was left running
