Sapphire Theatrix greenlighted?

I know the ATI Elite 550 is now supported, but I haven't seen anyone explicitly say they're successfully using the Sapphire Theatrix 550. Should it work? Will it show up in the list of cards to choose from in GBPVR setup? I don't mind being the first one to buy the card with the express purpose of using GBPVR, I just would like to know if there is some known reason that it would not work.

I think they're pretty much the same device, and use the same drivers, so it should work. That said, I dont own one so I cant confirm.

I'm using the Sapphire Theatrix 550 with gb-pvr right now, there is a problem with the birtate that Sub already knows about.

Hi Jet...

I currently use a Sapphire Theatrix 550 Pro with GBPVR and it works 98%. The only problems I'm having is getting GBPVR to recognize a couple channels as SAP audio, and finding a way to change the pre-set timmer record intervals to 5min instead of the standard 10min, and to get the composite input recognized. But hey its a MUCH MUCH better and MORE Stable program than the included powercinema. Hope that helps.

The left and right arrow in the manual recording window move in 10 minute chunks (as you've pointed out), but you can type in any time you like. ie, to start recording at 10:33, just type 1-0-3-3

I see where I can set the bitrate by clicking the final "settings" button. What is the problem with the 550 being stuck on the highest setting? I don't see that problem. Moreover, what does the bitrate do? I'm assuming higher bitrate means better quality and more disk space taken up, no? If that is correct, then what's the highest people usually go?

In the current release, the 550 drivers just ignores my requests to change bitrate. I've now managed to find a way to force the 550 to accept my bitrate requests, so this is corrected in the next release.

Yes, higher bitrate means higher quality, more disk space.

I am a Threatrix user as well. The only problem for me is the remote control, the function of learn keys is not working no matter which remote i choose. Anyone know how to solve this?

GB-PVR doesnt support for the Threatrix remote (because I dont have one, and know nothing about it).
