Hello, First of all Thanks for a wonderful piece of software.

I have set up NextPVR on a windows 10 pc about a month ago.
I use an extras tv tuner to use a HDMI-USB capture device. The extras tuner runs the batch file to change the channel on my set top box when the recording starts and everything works great except for one thing.

I only have manual recordings entered as I do not have an epg set up yet.

For example, I record a program on channel 10 at 3 AM. Then later in the morning I turn on the tv and watch channel 15, changing the channel with the stb remote.
I then have a recording set for 1 PM on the same  channel as the recording for 3 AM.
The batch file for the extras tuner does not run at 1 PM to change the channel back to channel 10.

I have seen this in the logfiles that when there is a change of channels for recording, the batch file runs. If the second recording is on the same channel as the first recording the batch file does not run.
I see the logic in this as there is no need to change the channel when its already there as far as NextPVR is concerned. NextPVR can't know that I manually changed the channel.

I was wondering it there is a setting somewhere to force the running of the batch file for every recording.

Send your zipped logs and we can have a look. NextPVR has not idea what an extra does so it has to execute the batch file with the channel number.

You have overlapping shows which are being recorded at the same time on the same channel so NextPVR is doing the correct thing not sending the channel switch the second time.

Although the second recording might be a bug in NextPVR best practice is never recording during the EPG update which triggered the second recording.

2020-12-18 02:45:46.499 [DEBUG][10] Update EPG...

More specific to your problem is the 10pm show again two recordings at the same time.

<Recording handle="19000B">\\SHARDAN-DATA\NextPVR\Manual Recordings\Haunting In The Heartland_20201216_22002300.ts</Recording>
<Recording handle="19000A">\\SHARDAN-DATA\NextPVR\Manual Recordings\Mystery At The Museum_20201216_21002200.ts</Recording>

I assume the are also on the same channel.

Thanks mvallevand
I will watch it some more for the times the recordings are not overlapping.

Yes. there is a one minute overlap on the same channel. It does not seem to affect the recordings though. I can see both recordings being saved at the same time on my nas.
If they are on different channels, both still record but at the end of the first program has the channel changed. Not a problem for me.

Ok now I feel like an idiot.
I dug a little deeper into the logs and found an instance where there was a gap between recordings on the same channel and found that the batch file did run.
It was just time times it did not run had me running in circles trying to find out why.
Sorry to waste you time with this.
