Hi.  I am getting this error when trying to watch some channels live, and of course recordings also fail.  When I first select the channel and choose 'watch', the status at the bottom of the screen says 'receiving data' and it counts up as if it's buffering and will eventually play, but then I get the 'Streaming Failed' message and the screen stays black.  Any ideas?  I searched the forum and only found one other thread on this topic, back in April, but it wasn't clear what the resolution was.  Log files attached.

P.S. This is using the web app, on a PC, playing an IPTV stream (in this case, UK ITV1).

Does the channel play if you try to watch it in NextPVR.exe?

or if you have a second go at the same channel in the web app, does it make any difference? The first time you try watching a channel it has to make more assumptions about the stream. The second time around on the same channel, it has stored some extra meta data about the stream from that first run, and sometimes this is enough to get the stream working.

In the web client, the only channel I have had success with so far is UK BBC2, which plays fine. BBC1 and ITV1 both give the same 'Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)' message after appearing to have buffered for a few seconds. UK Channel 4 and Sky One buffer initially, DON'T give any error message, but then don't play the stream either. They just sit with a black screen until I hit the square Stop button at the bottom. I have tried streaming ITV1 multiple times, with no success.

Now, interesting thing - you asked if the streams play in NextPVR.exe. I wasn't even aware that I still had that - I've only been using the browser-based client. But, I found it (last updated 12/16/2020), and to my amazement, YES, all five of the streams mentioned above play perfectly in NextPVR.exe. If it's of interest, the browser I am using is Chrome Version 87.0.4280.88 (64-bit), which is telling me that it's up-to-date.

Do you have the same problem viewing recordings in the web browser? If so, can you supply a sample recording for me to try here?

Hi, Sub. No, recordings I have made previously play back fine in the web client, including ones made from those channels before they stopped working.

Hi, Martin. Thanks for trying to help. The server is a PC with an Intel i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60 Ghz with 16 GB RAM installed, running Win 10 Home, build 19042.685. There is no evidence of other apps running slow, or over utilization of memory. Plus, I actually have NextPVR installed on two different PC's, and they are both exhibiting the same behavior.

The web server cannot transcode the h264 in your stream it is not clear what is wrong which is why the sample is needed

OK. Please clarify what it is you want a sample of? Do you want me to record something through NextPVR.exe that won't play in the web client, and send that?
