I setup NextPVR 5 on friday night. I made sure everything worked properly including comskip.
The only thing I didn't test was the automatic wakeup. And of course, that didn't work . None of my scheduled recordings went through.
I checked the Windows event viewer, and the machine never woke up on 1/10, the day the recording was supposed to take place.

I never had this problem with NextPVR 4 on the same system previously. What could be causing this ? And how do I fix it ?

Excerpt from nrecord logs on 1/9

Unfortunately the machine never woke up on 1/10 at all and all recordings were missed.

I have tried scheduling more recordings and putting the machine to sleep, and it still never wakes up for any of them.

Aquantia AQN-107 10gig ethernet NIC

A/V :
Marantz SR7011 receiver + 15 speakers
Optoma UHD65 4K projector

Did you see this ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help

The forum police might be along soon to discuss your use of log snippets ... Smile

My understanding is that nothing has changed in V5 with regard to NextPVR waking a Windows machine for recordings.

What does the Windows Event Viewer say at or about the time that the machine should have woken? (yeah ... I know it will say nothing if the machine didn't wake ... but just in case!)

What does ... powercfg -waketimers ... say (in a Command Prompt run as Administrator) ... after NextPVR has told Windows to wake the machine?

In short ... I cannot recall a case where wake issues has been with NextPVR ... it always turns out to be a Windows thing or a BIOS thing or some other thing.

This problem went away on its own after a reboot somehow.

However, I now have the opposite problem : the system never goes to sleep on its own anymore.

The ... powercfg ... command includes the options ...

Quote:/LASTWAKE          Reports information about what woke the system from the last sleep transition.
/WAKETIMERS        Enumerates active wake timers.
/REQUESTS          Enumerates application and driver Power Requests.

On some, but not all, of my machines .... A component of the Windows Update Service keeps machines awake.

Yes, I know about powercfg .
On my system, it's not the Windows update service that keeps the machine awake. It's "Legacy kernel driver". And that goes away if I stop the NextPVR service.
