Hi.
Some channels in the UK show movies with a split in the middle for a short news slot. The the three parts - movie. news. movie - all have an entry in the EPG so to record, you have to pick two items with the same name and end up with two files to watch.
Is there any way for NPVR to see these two entries in the guide as one and so just record all the way through? Emby seems to be able to do this somehow or another so wondering if NPVR could too.

There actually is a way. If you use Schedules Direct for your guide, they don't include the news break.

There is no magic for Emby, it uses the same source as Schedules Direct.

Ah OK. I wasn't implying any magic from Emby. Smile

I do have a schedules direct login and have given it to NPVR but when I look at the channel list, the EPG source is set to the DVB/ATSC over the air guide.
Do I have to change every channel over individually to Schedules Direct?

Thanks

I have the same issue as emg456
Is there likely to be a way of NextPVR being able to record the whole movie in a future release using the standard OTA EPG - is this on the roadmap ?
I have used TVHeadend in the past which also pulls the OTA EPG and this does not seem to have the split issue and records the whole movie
Schedules Direct is a paid service which whilst not expensive is yet another ongoing cost I would like to avoid if possible

Thanks

You can use ... Manual Recording ... to create a single recording by specifying the start time and duration ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/web...-scheduler

If a UK user can use the evaluation version of tscapture (from https://tscapture.com) to capture a 1 minute full transport stream from a channel that has this scenario appearing in a few days time in the guide, I'll take a look.
