Would be this one solved by Auto merge? Or is Auto merge useful only for dual tuners? Sorry if questions came to my mind step by step... Smile

There is ... Merge ... and also ... Auto Merge ... It is your choice if you want to merge SD and HD versions of the same channel.  It might be that you only want to view broadcasts from the HD version and you want to ignore the SD version.

You can create a ... Group ... that contains only the channels that you want ... You can select the channels that are shown in the Guide using the ... Channels ... button at the bottom left of the Guide in the Web App.

As I posted auto merge by channel number in this situation will be a disaster.

I have written a few extra tuners and I understand the problem of tuners with non-matching source wanting to use the same channel number very well. I personally feel that sub's approach to channel numbers is better then Kodi's default which basically numbers channels for sequential display. With Kodi you have no duplicates but for me it is impossible to find any channel.

To you with different source it might seem odd to re-use the display number but for the average user who adds a new tuner for the same source it isn't odd at all (and auto merge works just perfectly).

As for working being involved, yes the more channels you have the more work, that is a prices for the luxury, but perhaps deleting channels is also an option. Of course to avoid work of remapping you do have the option of using Kodi with arbitrary channel numbers.
