Extended Recording Stopped Early

I knew the AFC game would louse up the program schedule afterward and it did by overrunning about 31 minutes. I had earlier changed the recording item for FBI scheduled to start at 9:59pm and extended it with 45 minutes of post-padding.  I thought I had solved the problem until I looked at the .ts file which showed the length at 1h20m. I checked the file with VLC and it did stop way before the extension I had provided for completed. I also noticed that The Rookie recording was only 24min, not the 1h2m I'd expected.

The log shows:
- The Rookie started on time at 10pm but was shut off after 24 minutes.
- The FBI started on time but stop at 11:20PM, not at 11:45 like I'd set up.
- IDs used the identify scheduled events in the log are mixed up and an ID for FBI was used for The Rookie. Or vice-versa.

Logs attached. I hope this can be unraveled. Two show failures. Most unlike NextPVR.

It seems that this error is being persistent. It happened again when I tried to record a Hallmark movie today.

Recording was set to record beginning at 1PM with a one minute pre-pad. It started on time. But something happened to stop the recording about 34 minutes later. NextPVR tray showed tuner still active but no tuner LED was lit. Recording file was closed and what was recorded played perfectly. It seems to me the log is showing that the DCR-3250 simply stopped transmitting.

Log events for this recording begin at 2021-01-31 12:59:00.398.

Has anyone else seen this?

From what I can see, your 1PM recordings started correctly at 12:59, and was still actively recording at the 1:53 when you collected the logs. There was no sign of anything stopping around 1:33.

There should have been an error message if the HDHR dropped the connection, so I can only assume it was still connected, but not sending anything. If you managed to catch it happening, maybe look in the HDHR web interface, to see if it's locked and sending data etc.

Tried new recordings and I'm still having problems. It looks like I can repeat these errors at will. I can't imagine what has changed to cause these issues.

As a test I programmed three manual one-hour recordings to start 10 minutes apart:
T1 at 10:35am Chnl 507
T2 at 10:45am Chnl 504
T3 at 10:55am Chnl 502

All three recordings started on time but then T3 stopped almost immediately. The DCR-3250 web status showed T3 channel was locked in but there was no streaming rate. A short while later, T1 also showed the channel locked in but no streaming rate. At some time later, T1 and T3 web status showed these two tuners were not locked to any channel. The recording files for T1 and T3 remained open. T2 finally dropped out while NTray showed still recording. Recording files all closed after "recording" for an hour.

At 11:35am NTray showed T1 ended with the recorded file showing a length of 28m09s. What happened at 11:03:09?
At 11:45am NTray showed T2 ended with the recorded file showing a length of 54m13s. What happened at 11:39:13?
At 11:55am NTray showed T3 ended with the recorded file showing a length of 00m26s. What happened at 11:55:66?

Below are two screen captures of the Resource Monitor, the first one during test and the second after testing completed. I don't know if these will help. But I hope so. 

I am recording to a local hard drive with plenty of space.

Are ports be closed prematurely without any error to NextPVR? What could do that? Are there enough ports to allow three simultaneous connections?

Can more logging help? Isn't there some registry setting to get more logging?

What size were the files when they stopped recording? What file system is I:\ drive?

I can partially explain "The FBI" it was extended by NextEnd and because of that and your 45 minute padding it is actually recording for 2 hr 11 min. I am not sure why you say it stops a 11:20. Is it stopped, or is there a hole in the middle where data wasn't streaming.

sub: the I: drive is a 1TB internal local disk with NTFS. Recorded files play perfectly.
Files sizes:
- T1 - 2,060,145KB
- T2 - 3,690,891KB
- T3 - 19,348KB

mvallevand: thanks...that helps. I'd forgotten about NextEnd and added the padding thinking I'd need it. I'm sorry I didn't save the FBI file but I remember only testing that it plays before deleting it.

Can I use this with V5 for enhanced logging?

Can you create a c:\temp directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR\ LogDemuxFileOps=1 (DWORD) in the registry, then reproduce the problem again, then post the c:\temp\file.txt and regular logs?
