Hello,
I'm trying to add a sub channel to my backend, however I'm not sure how to do it properly.  I'm using a Directv receiver and want to tune to channel 681-1.  Directv uses dashes, not dots, for sub channels.  I was able to add the channel with a dot, however it only tuned to the primary, 681.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Specs:
Windows backend
NextPVR v5
Hauppauge Colossus 2
Component input
Schedules Direct subscriber

How do you enter these on the remote?  You would need to mimic these with your channel changing command.

I'm not sure what (if any) blaster utilities support sending a "." or "-"

lirc can send any key on a IR remote . Just assign 681 to another number, even 681.1 since the number coming in will need to be how Schedules identifies it to NextPVR

However I am not sure SD do support these, I checked for possible stations and did find Attitute-2 sports on 681.1 and it isn't on zap2it.com at least in Omaha, they do have two 681's.

Thanks for responding.

Keying in 681 dash 1 will tune to the channel.

I'm using the windows backend and the HaupBlast.exe command to change channels.  I manually tested it and it only responds to numerals.  I'm assuming that this is the only way to get the channel tuned.

Is there an alternative to this IR blaster app?

Thanks again,
Paul

I already posted that lirc (or in your case winlirc) will send the dash if you can find a definition file for your remote.

Yeah, HaupBlast.exe definitely isn't going to be able to do it. It can only do numbers, not other characters.

I'll do some research with lirc.

Again, thanks for the help,
Paul
