I assumed that if I changed the 'Recording Group' in Kodi to match the names of my recording directories (Movies or TV), then it would actually change the recording to be in that directory.  It doesn't.  Is there a way to record into a specific configured directory from Kodi?

You didn't post the Kodi debug log and NextPVR logs, so for me that means it does work. However, you do seem to be doing the right thing, but please note that NextPVR won't necessary let you override the directory of an individual recording in a recurring rule, since the recurring rule will override that changes next time it is updated.

OK, thanks.  I can post logs if still needed, but in my case, these were existing 'Timer Rules' that I was editing in Kodi.  I would have expected it to update the existing recurring rule in NextPVR.  Sounds like I would have to delete the existing rules and start over again since most of these are Advanced rules, and the 'New' flag from Kodi isn't honored (so I can't update them from within NextPVR).

In theory it should update , but since I don't use keyword or advanced rules so it is lightly tested and so we'd need the logs to see what is going on.

OK, as soon as I get home I'll send what logs I can find.

The normal set of zipped logs from NextPVR logs should be ok.

Here are the logs.  Last thing I did was try to update a Timer for 'A Million Little Things' to the Movies Recording Group.

It doesn't seem to let me attach a file for some reason, so here is a link to the logs (OneDrive link):

So it looks like it does actually work, it is just not reflected in the NextPVR ruleset. I just tested by adding a one time recording, and it still shows in NextPVR as the 'default' folder, but it actually recorded into the Movies folder. So, I guess the only bug is that it is not reflected in the NextPVR web console. Similar to the New vs All recordings.

EDIT: Actually, it is not reflected in the Kodi engine either. I just went back into Kodi, and it also lists the timer as being the 'Default' folder.

Sub will need to confirm but it appears the recording.list API has never identified the recording directory for one-off and recurring recordings. The API will allow you to change it but you would need a UI client to see where it will be recorded.

This likely will require a Kodi and backend change.

@muzikman0 sub provided an update to NextPVR for the next release and I have submitted a Kodi change so in Matrix you will be able to see the proper directory. As you noted recordings are correct. Until then, you will need to use NextPVR.exe another UI Client like knewc or Roku to see the actual recording directory that will be used.
