If I wanted to do that from a different PC (not the NPVR server), is it possible without allowing unauthenticated access?  IE: can I use https, and include a pin?

EDIT: actually, I already have https access through a reverse proxy, so I guess the only thing is can I do this from a different PC. I will experiment and see.

First it is a GET not a POST, but no. Curl would require security, which the browser interface caches if you save logins and you can't pass a PIN to curl. I think you can disable all PIN security on a trusted network with <AutoAuthLocalConnections>true</AutoAuthLocalConnections> If you really want this.

NScripthelper does work over the network if you search the forum.

You can enable https for NextPVR directly or via a nginx but it takes some work and it can be a nightmare for Kodi configuring self-signed certs.

I have posted that I don't support linux and that include cron-jobs, scripts etc so I leave it to you to research this without my help.

Thanks. looks like curl won't work regardless, but the command posted was XPUT, not XPOST, which I believe would be a 'get', but I could be wrong. Either way though, I will just use nscripthelper if I need it. So far since I updated, NPVR has been removing deleted files on it's own, so this may end up being a non issue.

I already have a reverse proxy using Caddy (which is super simple to setup), so no need for nginx. Caddy automatically updates my certs as needed with no interaction on my part, so that is awesome, and super simple.

Sorry I misread I was quickly responding when I was doing something else. I am not sure how Caddy knows how to update certs in Kodi which is where the trouble is but I'm glad you have a solution.

oh, sorry, I mis-read, caddy just updates the certs for the domain, so my domain on https will redirect internally to the local instance of nextPVR. I actually use OpenVPN to connect Kodi to NextPVR since my server is actually hosted off site. My setup is a bit weird. I record offsite, then have scripts that run over night to move the recordings to a OneDrive Folder, which then transfers them to my home machine which is running my Media server, which then imports those recordings. It's a bit weird, but because of how my cable tv is setup, it works this way, and it is all automated.

OpenVPN allows me to stream live TV if I ever want it (although it's VERY rare that I use it). But it also allows me to schedule from my Shields (via Kodi) any recordings I want, etc. It works well, and has been fairly stable. Because of this, I don't have to worry about certs in Kodi.

Files are deleted automatically on deleting a database. Try Deleting those file manually and see whether you are able to delete or not ??
