Why does Kodi show channel icon for upcoming recordings?

In Kodi, when you look at what is to be recording (Timers), instead of showing the show cover art, it shows the channel logo.  However, if you go into the program information (long press a timer), it shows the actual show art.  Is there a way to show the actual show art in the timer list? 

While I'm at it, is there any way to show the season and episode info in the list of timers?  Either in the details, or title?

Timers don't directly support art, Kodi displays it from linked sources, so if you have the EPG configured to download TV art you will see it on the Timer. If you change it you might need to use Kodi setup to empty the PVR database.

I don't default to showing TV art as it can slow down EPG navigation, Kodi can request a lot of art when you pass over shows, many of which NextPVR will have to grab from Internet sources.

That art display will probably also depend on the skin. Where the default Estuary skin might show you something, another might not. I know the skin I use regularly (Arctic Horizon) has a very minimal PVR interface (the skin author doesn't use the PVR section I think), so some stuff I used to see in Estuary I don't with that one.

I use Amber.  Most everything I like, it's just the upcoming timers that I don't, but it sounds like it is what it is.

For questions like this it is best to check using the Estuary skin first since that is the Kodi reference design. That way you can tell if your post is better suited for the Kodi forum skin support.

That was a good call.  I just checked the default skin, and I see what is happening now.  It breaks the timers into 2 sides (left and right), on the left, it lists the title, and shows the channel icon, but on the left, it shows a synopsis of the episode, with actual show art.  Interestingly enough, it does show the season and episode info, where Amber does not.

I like this a lot more, but I hate the rest of the default skin, so I won't be switching!  I will find a Amber skin forum and post there.
