I've noticed that in the web interface, there's a way to select a date in the guide, and I can use a mouse to advance time.  That doesn't appear to be the case in the client.

Am I wrong, or am I missing something?  How do you advance the date/time in the client presentation of the guide with only a mouse?

Thanks!

You can scroll to earlier or later in the day by dragging the scrollbar in the timeline at the top or bottom of the screen. You can't scroll from day to day, but you can just click the date date and select a new date from the dropdown.

Ah sorry, I now see you're asking about nextpvr.exe. Sorry, that one isn't as mouse friendly. It's mainly intended to be driven by a remote control, or keyboard.

I figured that would be the answer, but had hoped the interface would be more mouse friendly.

While I use an AirMouse and have the appropriate functionality, I can't convince/teach my wife to use more than a simple computer mouse. (She's really unhappy with the "cord cutting" approach, but I have been forcing the issue.) ;-)

Thanks for the reply!!

Cord cutting to me is about getting rid of cable but keeping the 10' interface that really needs a proper remote. I recently bought a $15 RF remote that has the pretty much all the dedicated keys you need and you can scroll EPG screens left/right up/down by by days with just one key.

While I agree with you, and that's why I have an AirMouse (similar to https://www.amazon.com/Dupad-MX3-Wireles...071RTDYV2/), you need to come for a visit and convince my wife! ;-)

That's the one I was talking about with the 3 ways of scrolling the guide, just ignore the mouse and learn the proper keys.

How how did she control an online guide before? I don't know any STB that used a mouse or was as useful as NextPVR's.

That looks like a complicated remote. Don't make her use a mouse - painful.

Pretty much everything in NextPVR can be driven with the up/down/left/right/enter/back keys on a remote, just like you would have had with a cable box in the past, and that is ideally what you want to be using with NextPVR when you're sitting across the room.

Yes it takes getting used too, but it has fewer keys then the Hauppauge and MCE remotes that NextPVR is based on (they are also options but are IR not RF). I like to scroll my guide by days and screens we are different there you like to hold the cursor.
