I'm having the issue when going through NextPVR. I have LAV filter 32-bit installed and sometimes the pixelation is pretty bad. If I switch to the pass through input on my TV everything looks fine. Any ideas if it is a setting in LAV filter that is making things look bad?

Since it is encoding are you sure it is pixelation in playback?  Sometimes my STB does pixelate.  Perhaps share a video on an external link that shows the problem.

It just looks very blocky during live playback. I have been fiddling with the LAV filter settings to no avail.

Can you supply a short sample recording?

Hopefully you can see this but YouTube flagged it is a copyright claim.

Unfortunately youtube reencodes the video when it's uploaded.

Best bet is to share a file on somewhere like onedrive, or google, or something like that. This way we can see the recording in the same way you do.

Is it mainly when there is lots of movement on the screen that you see this?

Yes, but when I have it through the pass-through input on the HD PVR 2 it looks fine. Here is the file again through Google.

I'm not surprised that passthrough would look better. This is uncompressed video.

The feed that is sent to the PC has been compressed.

If it's mainly sport, or high movement screens when you notice it, you may need to increase the <Bitrate> settings in the <HDPVR> section of config.xml

Upload your logs, that could be the problem where the default bit rate is used and not the expected video bit rate. Lower then SD.
