Will GBPVR play a DVD (via XCard) from a directory on my Hard Drive?

I have the XCard but only have a slot for my 350 or the XCard. Right now, I've got everything working without the XCard. I'm asking because I don't want to mess up my system if GBPVR can't do this.

Thanks in advance...

I personally havn't tried to play a DVD from the hard drive, but i'd like it to do this so if you try it and it doesn't work let me know and I'll get it to go.

How would you store the DVDs on your hard drive - .ISO?

It's a straight rip from an unencrypted DVD.

I might try it sometime later this week. Just got my system working after several weeks. I want to enjoy it before I mangle it some more. I also purchased an MVP and am going to hook it up before I do any more modifications to the system.

I'll get it all working and then create a restore point so that I can get it back if something terrible happens playing around.

The next release, due in a few days, includes the ability to play DVDs from the hard drive with the XCard. I went down DVD rip approach though, because that was what was asked for above.

No support for mounting ISOs in current release.

I could look at this after the current release is out of the way. I'd probably have to base an implementation on having Daemon Tools installed so that I could mount the ISO as a drive.

Sub I think you be off writing old school MCI codes in order play encrypted DVD and which dosen't work well with even unencrypted DVD under DVD navigator and Xcard DS filter.
I think ISO are waste of time not counting the ext system re-source.
Why not just use the subst command

hi shspvr, the new version does play encrypted DVDs (from a DVDRom drive), and unencrypted DVDs from the hard drive (no subst or mapping required). DVDs played from the hard drive need to be unencrypted otherwise the key exchanges that normally go on with the DVD Rom drive get in the way.

I'll probably also add ISO support, but only really to support those users that have large collections of .ISO files already. Personally I'd use DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink to rip the movies to the hard drive.

You still get full DVD menus and extra when running these movies from the hard drive.
