main menu default

- main menu now defaults to breaking old Recordings screen into separate items for Whats New, Recordings and Scheduler. (can be reverted in config.xml for those that don't like them separate)

Where is the setting for this? It wasn't obvious to me in the config.xml.
I jump (right/left click on remote) between the what's new, scheduled recordings and all recordings screen and the new approach has made it more cumbersome. Not sure why both can't coexist, but I'd rather use the old style.

Cumbersome is probably too strong since it is only two keys more (hidden menu, menu) and from there is actually clear. I personally like going into Recording and actually getting Recordings not the last menu I was on.

Consider mapping F8, F9 and F10 and get one key access from anywhere.

I’m not home to check it, but it’s something like <RecordingsMode>classic</RecordingsMode>

Search for “modern” to find the setting.

I understand, but I'm using a remote, not a keyboard.
So now its:
1 Click a button for menu
2 Click ok to see menu
3 Click down 1 or more times to item
4 Click Ok
That's a lot more than one click (left or right)
So for now I'm sticking with cumbersome, even though it's a strong word - lol.
The way it was working was very intuitive and doesn't seem incompatible with the new approach. I realize it's a challenge to make UI changes and keep everyone happy.
Plus I have to retrain my wife...

To use the old UI, it's:

I have hotkeys on the remote to the hidden menu and also to all the screens in NextPVR.

I also suspect that going to scheduled recording is really not that common for your wife and this will be more intuitive for her if you gave her the opportunity. Now when she wants to look at recordings or whats new she will get them and not conflicts or some othe screen.
