Hello,

Been trying out NextPVR v5 and I must say I am liking what I see so far. I do like the simplicity compared to TVH.

I have been trying out various installations; Docker, Ubuntu (in a LXD Container) and Windows Server.

I see this has been asked in the past (2015) but couldn't find an answer for version 5.

Does nextpvr support accurate recording? I think this is called EIT; from my testing I don't think it does. Tvheadend will start recording right before the program starts even with a padding of 5 minutes but this doesn't seem to be the case with NextPVR.

I tried it with HDHR mode and local hdhomerun DVB-T device (windows). Not sure how OTA guide is populated in HDHR mode.

Thanks a lot,

Chris

NextPVR only updates the schedule time after an EPG update. You can update the frequency and have no padding if you wish.

For the majority of broadcasters, the don't update this stuff on the fly, they feed in the listings like week in advanced, and they never get updated. Luckily most countries work to a pretty damn accurate schedule, and it all works out fine.

I know there is some special stuff in the UK for signalling this stuff, but it's not supported elsewhere in the world, including here in New Zealand where the development is done.

Wow,

Thanks for the very quick response.

When in HDHR mode does nextpvr get the OTA EPG directly like it would with a local tuner or does it use the siliconedust api to get the guide?

Is it working for you? For Windows I know sub uses hdhomerun_config for DVB_EPG in HDHR mode I am not sure about Linux using libhdhomerun.

Yeah, it gets it directly from the stream, not a silicondust api.
