Hi

Just trying out NPVR and android TV after years of Kodi+TVheadend.  I've sideloaded the app on to my Sony x95G Android TV but I can't progress from the Installation Information Version 1.2.1 screen.  When I choose 'select server' I don't have any servers available but NPVR is setup, running and I'm able to watch streams from the webclient.  I have a pincode set in application access and access over the internet ticked... A manual configuration doesn't connect either.

Everything is fully wired between the devices so no wireless issues or subnet issues to worry about...

Am I missing something really obvious like a go button that is not showing??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

You posted earlier that you run Docker, so for NextPVR's discovery protocol to work you need to publish port 16891 UDP. You also need to add the HOST_IP environment variable and set it to the IP of of the host. Both of these are shown here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid522449

You should also be able to manually enter the server IP in the manual setting box. Is this on a Shield with Android 11? There is an issue with the setup screen being poorly designed for Android 11 should will be address in the next release.

Device is Sony TV x85G running Android 9 curently.

If 16891 udp is published yes it should show up with an IP on the same subnet.

I would need NextPVR zipped logs to continue

Its ok, I added the host_ip option in and restarted the docker and your app connected fine. How do we get back in to hte settings though as my TV remote has the ability to page up/down using the channel buttons?

That should be explained here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=63146

I'd be curious to know if the numbers on your remote work. That helps a lot.

So the number buttons work fine and select the channel represented by the number, same as play/pause however channel up / down (once I got in to the app settings) works briefly before the default Sony TV app takes over. Its a shame that you're not working on the Live Channels app integration anymore as that would be just amazing.

Kodi manages to capture the default remote commands fine, without the Sony/Android stuff taking over e.g. channel up/down, play/pause, FFW/RW etc.

Live TV channels is abandonware by Google.  It is also a fat client like Kodi and I see no reason to support it.

Any key that the app doesn't understand is sent to NextPVR and there is a file to remap it.  Just because a key is labelled something that might not be what uudroid sees.  Basically hit the keys and look in your config folder to see what keys are available in the clientstore file
