I am experiencing some interesting behaviour.

When I navigate to http://:x.x.x.x:8866/uiclient.html, the interface works fine: TVGuide works, recordings are there, searching works, video works, but when I select a show via TVGuide or go to LiveTv, I have video, but no audio.

If I navigate to a recording, I get both video and audio.

Logged out and logged back in, but this behaviour is consistent.

Log files attached.  If there is a sticky identifying how to prepare the log files different than what I have provided, please direct me (ie. I notice there are some files in there from earlier this month.  I am supposed to clean these up before I attach?)

Thoughts?

Thanks

Greg

Don't worry it probably belongs in the main Windows forums since it is an ffmpeg issue detecting your audio. It isn't really a UI client issue.

The web clients are really designed from playing recording that are auto-converted to a streamable format.

I am a bit concerned with how long you device is taking to stat

2022-06-03 11:20:21.952 [INFO][6] Got POST request: /stream/start?slipseconds=1200&target=LIVE%26C%3A%5CUsers%5CPublic%5CVideos%5Clive-800%20CFTODT-19216-21.ts
2022-06-03 11:20:31.059 [DEBUG][6] StartStream succeded. Handle: 7

I've used an HDPVR for a long time with Rogers (copper not Ignite) and I have never seen such slow starts. The limit on the bit rate seem odd too.

Do you have your STB set to output fixed 720p and 2 channel audio?

Thanks for the thorough review of my logs.  Appreciate your concern regarding performance.

I run Bell Satellite.  Attached are the settings I have available to me in the Settings screen (at least that's all I could find)

I also am running HDMI out of the STB to a HDMI splitter.  This bypasses the hcdp and then I run HDMI into the Colossus.  Could the splitter be a problem?  Should I just be running component video rather than HDMI?

Greg

Just confirming what Martin says above - your device seems to be very slow to start, and this is leading to the audio type being unable to be detected in a reasonable time, so ffmpeg effectively gives up on the audio.

Quote:2022-06-03 10:58:00.916 [DEBUG][4] [mpegts @ 02b71300] Could not find codec parameters for stream 1 (Audio: aac ([15][0][0][0] / 0x000F), 0 channels): unspecified sample format
...
2022-06-03 10:58:00.917 [DEBUG][4] Stream #0:1[0x1100]: Audio: aac ([15][0][0][0] / 0x000F), 0 channels

When you play a recording, the audio/video is there immediately, so it has no problem with the audio.

It's not just performance, this is probably why ffmpeg is having trouble. 720p and PCM is a good combo. You could try component and see, but satellite might be slow. LNB's can have different levels of performance too.
