Haven't used NPVR for months , yet continually wakes computer

No signal in home, so no use of NPVR:

No recordings pending
No tuners active

It's not in the list of startup programmes or scheduled tasks. Why does it wake computer? I stop the service after each wakeup, apparently that's not enough.

I'll use NPVR at some future date, so I don't want to uninstall.

You do have EPG updates enabled and the service was definitely not stopped from July 12-20 and July 23-26

The best thing to do would be to disable the service in services.msc not stop it, as a reboot will restart it.

Thank you. I've unchecked EPG auto update and done the other you suggested.
