Freesat setup (newbie to DVB-S)

Hi brand new to the forum hope everyone is well
Ive been searching through the forum but it hasn't been touched upon for a while unless i am looking in the wrong place. I've got my DVB-S usb tv tuner successfully installed in windows, and nextPVR grabs all the channels fine.
I just wondered if there was an easy way of getting the channel numbers such as 101 BBC 1, 102 BBC 2, 103 ITV etc, if there isn't, has anyone actually altered the channel list painstakingly to reflect this? I did give it a brief go but because other channel numbers were also already assigned, i kept getting more than one channel on the same channel number
For example i tried to change BBC 1 to 101 but there was another channel already there so i had two 101 channels

I found the file with the reduced transponders which helped a lot (the custom ini of astra 28.2) and after forum searching i found a post where someone used v4 to help with this as you could move channels up and down rather than manually typing in numbers. So i went ahead and installed older version v4 - That helped loads!
So i think ive found the answer to my own question but may i suggest if possible bringing that feature back (the + and - ) to reorder channels. For this particular case it worked much better than manually typing in channel numbers as there was never any duplicates possible

Satellite channel bouquets seem to be a generally frustrating thing on third party devices and systems. Of all the ones I've looked at, NextPVR is my preferred solution but even then the volume of channels on a typical satellite constellation leads to a lot of clutter.

On V4 it used to be possible to import channels from XML files. I had a Python script which would make an XML file for Freesat based on your preferred region, I found it worked reasonably well.

I'm not sure if such a solution is possible on V5?

There was some discussion about adding native support for Freesat bouquets, although I'm not sure of the status of that?

If there's interest, I'd be up for taking a look at modifying my Python script to work directly on the V5 database directly.

Sorry I just realised you have V4 installed. I'll see can I find one of the XML files with the channels and if you like you can check if you can import it.
