SAT>IP with Freesat UK/Ireland Audio Issue - Digibit R1

Hello Folks,

My setup is a mix of HD Homerun for Saorview and a Telstar Digitbit R1 (Firmware Version V1.25.0.157). The HD Homerun portion works as expected, however I am experiencing a tedious problem with the Digibit for UK Freesat channels.

On channels such as ITV2 for example, I consistently receive the audio descriptive stream by default. Having searched this forum and seeing that most other problems were client related, I decided to remove NextPVR from the troubleshooting equation and work directly between VLC and the Digibit R1.

I reviewed the npvr.db3 and identified the ITV2 HD stream that exists on my NextPVR, from there I located the ITV2 HD equivalent from the Digibit M3U to test with.

Standard Sat>IP URL for ITV2 HD (PID's Match in NPVR)

From reviewing the codec information in VLC (screenshot attached) the PID format I require is  pids=0,2305,2307,258

The URL rewritten looks like this and works as expected:

My question is two part

1. Is there an approved way to modify these PID's within NextPVR? My concern with experimenting with the npvr.db3 file (apart from not having an IOTA how it works) is if it might be overwritten periodically on Sat>IP scanning.

2. I am not nor have ever been a Sat>IP expert and it is possible if not probable, I have failed to set up the Digibit R1 correctly, has anyone else experienced the same issue before and aware of a better approach from the Digibit side or middleware?

There would be no point in modifying the PID's since they can vary by program. NextPVR records streams as is so that would be a client issue. Which NextPVR client are your talking about as there are more than 15?

I was not aware these varied by program. That adds an interesting spanner to the works

I am using the NextPVR app from Play store on Google TV. I have tried to use the settings icon on the bottom right of screen and changing the audio, however, the chosen ENG stream produces no audio.

There are a couple of possibilities. Does your TV support AC3 (Dolby)? If not make sure that the Google TV is not set for pass through so that it converts audio from Dolby.

Other things to try, there is uidroid find the link on this this forum (that does default to the English track) and also Kodi.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will give it a go.

I am confident it is not a TV limitation as I can play via VLC using the modified PID directly from the Sat IP, I will do a side load of the app you suggested (once I figure out how to do that), I located the apk on the forum, and see how it goes.

VLC can decide ac3 so that doesn't prove much .
