Been a long time.. I gave up on my htpc a few years ago when chromecast / streaming became the norm. And tbh, not much to record on tv these days..
My parents still going strong with NPVR thou, all be it a very old build. I just had to patch up there PC with flakey HDD's, so gave the whole thing a birthday, including grabbing the latest NPVR.
Really like the new web ui (not convinced ill get the olds to swap lol..) but notice isn't an obvious option to play videos like in the desktop app. Am I blind, or is it no longer included ?
The HDD's that remain have a ton of old shows, just cant get to them from the web ui.

NextPVR.exe is still there in the client sub-directory.

NextTool will import your recording and you can even use your v4 database from the v4 folder if you still have it.

I dont have the old DB, and even if I did are many problems with broken HDD's so that the recordings are pointing to missing files. Plan was clean slate..
Im guessing my parents will stick with the old front end even though the web UI looks much slicker. Might have been able to convince them to give it a go if could access the old recording through a video / file browser type tab like the "videos"

You can still use NextTool to import the files and they will play the recordings. It sounds like you might have lost the ADS metadata but if you were saving external xml files you might get some metadata.

Personally I fell the experience playing back recording in original format is not that great from the web player unless you have a powerful server.
