I've been using NextPVR on Linux and Windows and in most recordings that I schedule (MLB games) which are 4-5 hours long I get video files with ~24 hour length but they're really 4-5 hour recording.

If I skip through the file, there's a point in the seeking bar that the cursor makes a long jump thus rendering the middle of the bar "useless" for example: I get a 24 hour file on which I can seek/forward the first 2 hours and then it jumps 20 hours to the last 2 hours. I can watch all the content, it's just a little annoying and I'd like to know if this is a reported but because it's also happening for a couple buddies of mine.

Thanks.

Depends on the tuner source, but that is quite possible since the longer a file is the more likely there will be timestamp errors. There are many utilities that correct timestamps. I would normally check the file, but no way I will do that for a 4 hour file.

IPTV

watching while recording can be discarded as a reason for this behavior, right?

Which client are your watching in-progress, there are too many for us to guess.

Right, so I'm recording on Ubuntu and use MX Player on a Fire Stick to watch in-progress. Recording folder as a network share.

All bets are off using file share on a growing file.  Try Kodi or uidroid and see if they handle this better.
