While looking through my nrecord.log to see why the Survivor finale didn't get recorded, I see lots of these errors

Unexpected error removing expired timers: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.

Any idea how to fix it?

To start it would help if we saw the zipped logs. Ironically perhaps maybe Survivor didn't record because of the Schedules Direct issues Robert created for several users.

Yeah, we'd need to see the logs to have a bit more context around that error.

I know why Survivor didn't record because of conflicts

"new" Episode of Saturday Night Live Wednesday at 9 (I know Gracenote doesn't flag new episodes and isn't good at flagging repeats)
"new" Episode of NOVA  (surprised it couldn't find another time to record it, but no biggie)

Of course better notification of conflicts  is long standing feature request.

When poking at the logs, I saw the null pointer error, so I suspect some database corruption that should be fixed.... hence this thread.

It is best not to do an EPG update while streaming. One issue you have is with with recordings on a channel you have removed

Not sure if removing these will fix the problem.

Conflict management is in NextPVR.exe and UI clients (including the web based UI client.

Something is weird though since NextPVR is trying to set wake timers in the past.

I moved the guide time to 4pm or so... I didn't realize it conflicted with Jeopardy.
I removed the KPXDDT recording... not sure how it got there.. canceled Hawaii-50 was on CBS (KTVT)

My problem with conflict management being in the UI is I rarely open the UI. I wish it would flag for my attention either in the desktop icon, or preferably in the windows toast menu. using windows-10 notifications.

MCEBuddy removes commercials then passes the MPEG file to Plex for streaming on Roku Devices. (I did something similar with Media Center before NextPVR)

After the 4pm download I'll check the logs... the remove station could very well be the null pointer issue.

You had two recordings on that channel, there was also NCIS LA.

It probably wouldn't hard to write something to send the toast but not everyone runs on the desktop plus sending a toast needs to done in userspace.

For efficiency you can avoid Plex transcoding by just running comskip, transcoding to mp4 and using the NextPVR Roku channel. You can manage the conflicts in it.

The NCIS LA conflict had to be a guide error, as it also was on CBS, so couldn't conflict with Survivor.

good news.. the "value cannot be null" error is solved. It was probably the recurring recording on a deleted channel.

I'll look into the Roku app and running comkip manually.. looks like a big advantage is the ability to see what was skipped. (sometimes Final Jeopardy gets cut off!)
