Hi all

I use NextPVR for IPTV

I'm faced with an issue in which my recordings begin too early, and then cut off way before the recording has finished.

It's as if there is a massive time delay.

For example I recorded the King's Birthday Speech on TVNZ TV One, and it started minutes before, and cut out shortly after he started talking.

How do I adjust the offset to try to stop this from happening.

Thanks

In you select advanced recording instead of a single or recurring when you are asked about doing a recording, you'll get an option to set a pre and post padding time. You still have to make a guess as to what pre and post padding you need, and "live" stuff (like sports or speeches) can be tricky if the time in the guide is just a guess by the broadcasters.

First of course, check that your PC has the correct time. If it is good maybe watch Live TV just before a new show starts and count the actual delay and let us know what "massive" is. IPTV is not real time so there will be the some buffering time while it is buffered, encoded and delayed. There is also the possibility the guide data is crappy.

Like @pkscout says truly live broadcasts are harder to record especially with any guide data that is not real time. Padding is optional so if the show is truly important you might need to set a manual recording.
