Won't upgrade

According to the web interface I have 5.0.1.200103 installed and can get 5.2.5.220110.

My questions are:
1.  Why doesn't it show 6.x as available?
2.  I've redownloaded and reran NPVRSetup.exe multiple times and the program never updates.  According to the install log it appears to have installed fine.  Why won't it update?

Normally this is because you have an old npvr.zip in the folder with the installer. Delete it and you should be fine

I searched my PC and deleted all copies of NPVRSetup.exe ( there was another copy in the Downloads folder ).  There weren't any NPVR.zip.  Then, I downloaded the program (NPVRSetup.exe) from the website and ran it again.  Still no improvement.

Are you running a 64 bit version of Windows, or 32 bit?

Actually, scratch that - I'm pretty sure it's not to do with windows version.

I think it's something to do with this being a very old original preview version of NextPVR, which predated having an installer. I think the version you originally installed, was from a zip file.

I think the new version is installing correctly, to the default 'C:\Program Files\NextPVR\' directory, but you've got this original old zipped version installed somewhere else, and that is what is running.

Some more looking led to me uninstalling and deleting 4.x version of the program in C:\Program Files (x86)\.  Then I had C:\Program Files\NextPVR and C:\Program Files\NPVR folders so I removed the NPVR folder, removed NextPVR.zip in NextPVR\client, and reran the installer.  That didn't work and when opening the tray it complained that a connection to the remote server couldn't be made.  Thus, I uninstalled it all and reinstalled completely.  So far, so good.
