Credentials for recording to SMB network drive

I'm running NextPVR v6.1.1. I am trying to record to an SMB share on an Ubuntu machine. I have specified the path as UNC. How can I enter the necessary login credentials for this share? I've seen references to something called ShareHelper, but couldn't find a working link to it.
I'm running NextPVR on a Windows Server 2022 machine.
Is there any way to specify login credentials for the remote share?  6..2211 6.1.1.f221106 Ne

You would have to mount the share before recording. If you have real problem you can run the server with user credentials. I issue the net use command in a PreStartup script tht is easier to use than ShareHelper. You can do this with UNCs and drive letters.

I do already have a drive mapped to that share (with an assigned drive letter of V), but if I try to record to it (specifying the drive letter in the recording path) I get nothing output - presumably due to a permissions issue. Is that not the equivalent of using net use?

Ah sorry I've just realised my mistake - the mapping I already have is for a different user to the one that the NPVR service uses...

OK so I created a PreStartup.bat file with the following contents, and restarted the NPVR service:
net use \\192.168.1.36\myshare /user:myuser mypassword

I'm still getting zero length recordings on the target drive.

Hmmm...I've just noticed that I also get zero-length recordings if I switch to using a local drive. I don't see any errors in nrecord.log at the time of the recording though

EDIT: OK it looks like the HDHomeRun dropped off the network overnight.....great timing....!

You can confirm if the mapping is working by adding checks to PreStatup, the output will be in the log.

dir v:

dir \\192.168.1.36\myshare

V: would only work if the net use was for the same user, this is why you might need to get the username for the NextPVR Recording Service.

It seems to be writing to the shared folder OK now (I got the HDHomeRun back online).
