Is it possible to have NextPVRTray.exe run on multiple/different hosts on the same network? For example, I have a single tuner DVB-S setup. If someone on the local network were to use the NextPVR instance installed on my machine (the host), could they also see the status of the server through the tray icon but on their machine?

Also, unrelated - NLite on Windows. Can the icon-hover colour be configured / could this option be added in the future? Purely asthetics as purple/green don't mix well as you can see from the screenshot Tongue

If you want to install NextPVR and disable the server just for this yes, -server IP The launch options don't make sense either.

It does block sleep and shutdown on your client which can be annoying.

The same info is available on the webserver status so what are you trying to achieve,

@Brett does the Windows Gadget still work?

Also when does it show purple?

Yes. It works great! I use it on my laptop to remotely monitor what is going on with my server all of the time.

Are Gadgets still a thing on modern Windows? The gadget would be a better solution since the shutdown thing seems annoying.

Are you aware you can run:

NPVRTray.exe -server 192.168.1.86:8866

It currently only allows you to run one instance of the NPVRTray.exe utility, but I've added an optional "-multi" parameter in the next build, which allows you to run multiple. I've also modified it so that if you hover the mouse over the icon, it'll tell you which server each is connected to.

Hmm, you shouldn't be getting any purple. Can you post a full screenshot?

I'm running the latest Windows 11. It doesn't natively support gadgets, but if you install 8GadgetPack, they work great.

Thanks for the info about tray! This is getting more into suggested features, but seeing what IP is using what source would be very useful for Tray.

As for the purple, it's because I changed the background Tongue I didn't realize the skin was customizable to such an easy extent. I simply modified the green circle .png to be purple to match the background lol. Sorry for the confusion.

Sub,
My main system automatically boots into a non passworded (non privileged) account and automatically starts the NPVRClient and tray. This displays on the main TV in my house.

I am able to RDP simultaneously to the system with my privileged admin account for maintenance purposes.

What settings should I be starting the NPVRtray with to allow it to show simultaneously on both of the accounts. These are on the local system i.e. not connecting from a remote PC.

Ray.

The installer only sets it to auto run in the account that was used to do the install.

You can manually set it up to run under other accounts though. Up to you how to do this. ie, shortcut in startup folder, or Task Scheduler. I'd probably use Task Scheduler -> Create Basic Task -> Trigger = "When I log on" -> etc...
