I'd looked into it in the past, but didn't seem worth it to tie up tuners, or offer it for a such a small subset of channels.
I also experimented with continually recording all the NZ freeview channels, and keeping like 3 days of history at all times. It was pretty hard on the machine's disk. It was a pretty niche feature that didn't seem worth fleshing out into a real solution.
Yes, I can totally see the point here. A niche feature indeed. Although, maybe some users with tuners that can access multiple channels at once could set this feature on one of their fav sports or news channels for example.
If I, for example, recorded 2hours of content every two hours could I just go and listen to the current recording while it's being recorded giving me the ability to rewind it?
Also a little update, it seems to be working well. The default streaming buffer is perhaps a little long/large and introduced a 10-second delay. So I'll turn that down when i work out how. The mic input had a heck of a lot of signal processing which needed to be turned off. Listening to the stream and adjusting mic settings and the radio volume was a fun activity.
