Extra files in 6.1.4

Hi,

I have just updated to 6.1.4 and find I have three extra files generated for my first recording, they are suffixed .timing, .thumbnails and .map.

I see from the release notes that I can suppress the thumbnails but I am not sure how.  I see an entry in config.xml for <ExtractThumbnails> which is set to parallel, do I just make that false?

Can I also suppress the .timing file?

Should the .map not be deleted as it usually is?

I would prefer just to have the .ts files in the recording directory if that's possible.

You can turn off thumbnails from Settings->General Technically you can't disable it but you can set it to None so no new thumbnails are created.

Timing is turned off with <GenerateTiming>false</GenerateTiming> I would recommend leaving it on for web player, NextPVR.exe and nlite users.

The map file is created when recording and should be deleted when the recording is complete. If you can consistently see these left over post logs. Note that these are not new and this release did fix some conditions when they were being orphaned or not being created properly.

I checked Settings > General both in the web app and the GUI before posting but can't see anything relating to thumbnails. Where do I see it?

Thanks for the timing fix, I will make the change.

After this evening's recordings I will check to see if the .map file is still there and report back.

Did you try CTRL-F5 to refresh the browser page? There is a drop down list labelled Generate Thumbnails in the middle. Thumbnails are of negative value to Kodi users but some NextPVR users might like them and sub made the difficult decision to make this an opt-out feature.
