I have just installed a second SATIP server on my network (a Kathrein).

Previously NextPVR shared two of the tuners from my first SATIP server (a Megasat which feeds my SageTV machine).

NextPVR recognises the Kathrein, will scan channels with it. But I copied the channel list across from one of the Megasat tuners and any channels that it were scanned with the Megasat, nPVR tries to tune with it even when the Megasat is
1) disabled in the nPVR devices page
2) removed in the nPVR devices page
3) removed in the nPVR devices page and power unplugged.

The SATIP servers are different brands and on different (fixed) IP addresses 192.168.1.112 (Megasat) and 192.168.1.20 (Kathrein).

Logs are attached showing an unsuccessful attempt to tune BBC One EastHD (times out because it can't start the device) and a successful attempt to tune 7seven (a channel I added to the listing for this purpose).

Thanks in advance

Eric

Did you say you selected copy when prompted to scan on the new device? That copy should only be done with devices that are the same type. You are supposed to say no and then scan. If you copied, open the device and hit the trash can, exit and then do a new scan.

You can still merge channels after the scan.

The Kathrein appeared in the devices list automatically, labelled SAT>IP at the far left (as is the Megasat). Rather than scan for channels I selected Copy existing channel setup because the option was offered and mapping a full scan to schedules direct is a pain. They are both DVB-S tuners using (supposedly) the same protocols.

When it became apparent that nPVR wasn't using the Kathrein I ran a full scan and added a previously unused single channel; that tunes on the Kathrein. Everything else doesn't.

I'm aware that running two SatIP servers (8 tuners apiece) is unusual (I bought the Kathrein for redundancy and to test/play with nPVR without impinging on my SageTV install). So I'm more flagging that nPVR is still trying to use the Megasat even when it has been deleted from its setup screens and removed physically from the LAN.

No you cannot copy them even if NextPVR says you can and you need to go through the "pain"

I suspect the only reason you think it is using the megasat device is the copied IP is being used.

To tell you the truth for tuners 2-8 I don't know which one NextPVR will copy when there are 2 tuners.

nPVR was definitely using the Megasat even when those devices were deleted - I can track what each SatIP servers tuners are doing and the client IP address through their respective Web status screens.

However you are correct that rescanning on the Kathrein works. I assume that nPVR is storing the full tuning string (including the SatIP server's IP address) for each found channel rather than using rtsp://sat.ip/ (which doesn't resolve on my Ubiquiti network FWIW) or just storing the tuning parameters themselves.
