I still have to use V4 as later versions do not support Composite or S Video. I still need these inputs for older hardware. (yes, I regularly transfer old videotape and use an old set top box on this machine
I used V5 for a while using the database from V4, then I had to do a Channel reconfiguration due to "Foxtel" channel changes and it was not possible. I would have had to use V4 to make the changes.
I just went back to using V4 as this machine is only used for recording.
I have another PVR at the other end of my house which uses HDMI to record from its set top box, I am using the latest v6.1.5.231022 and this version is by far the best NPVR yet.

Honestly, when it comes to transferring old video tapes etc, I'd just recommend using the Hauppauge WinTV or Hauppauge Capture software. There is no point in doing this type of thing in NextPVR.

Sorry, it's probably not worth me adding composite/svideo support. It's a lot of effort and there are very very few people that have a set top box that requires this. I think you're the first person to even ask about it since v5 was created (like 4 years ago).

I am using an Extra with one HDPVR in Linux to use svideo and it is very reliable. I can even configure the STB to output SD 16:9 and capture 16:9 and it works well.

That being said my cable company is decommissioning all the STB's that output analog including component and this trend is happening all over North America so I agree with sub that this demand is shrinking every day.

An Extra is probably a great way to deal with any need for that type of setup. (albeit, probably only really doable on Linux installs)

The OP did not that the V5 database did work originally after upgrading from v4. Is it possible there is a enough left over code from v4 that a sqlite call could change the locator info in the tuning field manually after scanning HDMI or component?

Behind the scenes the Colossus / HDPVR code supports composite/svideo inputs, but the web interface doesn't have the ability to add them.

I'm pretty sure the HVR 2210 Composite, S Video inputs don't work at all.

Great. @peter_t looks like we could get your Collosus working if you want. I can get my USB HVR's working for analog on Windows with ffmpeg, but I agree it is isn't worth the effort. I don't know about Australia but HDPVR are dirt cheap here on ebay and Kijiji, just buy a used one, assuming NextPVR supports more than one.

On Linux with my HVR 2250 I can use one tuner as ATSC and the other one for svideo

Thanks for the reply's.
This is a back up PVR mostly used for recording from a Foxtel Set top Box using the Colossus 2 card and a USBUirt, it works well on V4 although Schedules Direct is a little buggy.
Although I would prefer to move to V6 as it is still working I will have to stay with V4 on this Machine.

As sub noted, the Collosus should work on V6 with analog in, it will just need running a minor script after re-scanning. Meanwhile Schedules Direct problem won't go away and might stop working altogether.
