What is the best way to create a Recurring Recording when the Title of the series comes after the ":". The original Recurring Recording I created for the first series does not detect the second series as they have added a sub title before the series name!

The series is called "The Secret Genius of Modern Life"! The EPG displays "Passport: The Secret Genius of Modern Life" where "Passport" is the subject of the first episode! Does the text after the first ":" have a different description to search on other than "title like"? I looked at the Wiki but could see nothing in the Scheduler section.

The BBC does occasionally do this!

NextPVR won't be expecting the subtitle to be part of the the time, it is just a title, so you need to do a advance recording.  The percentage sign is the wildcard query.

Easiest way would be to go to search search, go more options and enter "Secret Genius of Modern Life"  in title and click create recording.  These are already wildcarded for you.  They will be manual, but you can use "Secret Genius of Modern Life"  as the name for metadata etc.

This example isn't really the problem, but it is a solution.

Thanks but that is what I tried and it fails. I suspect that instead of  "title like" should be looking at something other than "title"?

It did work for me and title like is absolutely the correct command for sqlite3 wild carding, it even recorded two flavours of the show with different unique IDs.

Without logs we don't know.

Since NextPVR adds the wildcard, maybe you added a second one?

Sorry for the delay but I have been unwell for a couple of months! However I did spend a lot of time watching NextPVR recordings in bed or on the sofa! That included another BBC series with the Title and Sub Title reversed.
Its going back to early November but I think I was going to ask if there was an option something like "Subtitle like ':%xxxx%". Or is there some other was to include the data after the first ":" and should appear in blue when the programme details are displayed?

Sub is making some changes for Freesat including adding OpenTV EPG and he has improved the subtitle parsing but there were a few shows where the subtitle did look like it was at the end. There are far more shows with semi colons with proper subtitles so I am not sure your suggestion would make things better.

Do you have a current show name and I can check how it is being parsed from Freesat and OpenTV?

Sorry for the delay Martin.

These programmes where the Title and subtitle are reversed are rare so hardly worth special work. I have one recording which is only made if a certain word is found in the description. Is there any current search which covers the bit after the ":" after the title? I am only aware of BBC reversing the Title and Sub Title twice last year but that was only recordings of interest to me!

Sqlite3 has regexp but I don't think sub includes that and sub removed something I used to mimic that from v4. It is rare as you say so not sure why the general wild card you showed doesn't work
