I changed admin/password and enabled remote streaming. I am not able to access out of network. What do I need to do?

Do I need to run something that can keep my ip the same? I am using an ISP that has a modem you cannot directly connect to. Command prompt shows a different IP than "whats my ip" shows. I can use channelsdvr and plex, but not npvr.

Setting up the DMZ and any firewall would be the first thing you need to do. This is outside of scope for NextPVR.

For the changing IP there are services like ddns.org that will give you a name that you can change to match what you ISP provides however some ISP's might change on every connection making remote connections impossible. If you can connect remotely on other services focus on the first point.

OK got it working, whats the best way to pad it (my server has pretty slow upload) - I would prefer to not transcode.

I don't understand what "pad it" means but you can't change the upload bit rate of live TV without transcoding.

Recordings can be transcoded after they are created but then the quality is always low so I would watch recordings via Plex unless you always want remote viewing.

Can you pad the buffer more though? I get 25-30 mpbs so should be enough for 1-2 streams

Will there be a feature add to seperate categories from xml file for sports to just show live sports?

Can nlite let me watch from another pc in another property of mine? I cant get it to work for me.

D:\nextpvr\client>nlite.exe -server:ServerIP:8866

D:\nextpvr\client>nlite.exe -server: ServerIP:8866:0000

D:\nextpvr\client>nlite.exe -server: ServerIP:8866:0000

D:\nextpvr\client>nlite.exe -server: ServerIP:0000:0000

D:\nextpvr\client>nlite.exe -server: ServerIP:8866:8866

errored out

I got in but it wont play anything in nlite. can I just use webbrowser and disable transcoding? Is there a way?

I seem to be transcoding, can I avoid having to do that?

Is this it?

    <AllowRemoteStreaming>true</AllowRemoteStreaming>
    <AllowRemoteTranscode>false</AllowRemoteTranscode>

This failed

No matter what I do

https://community.getchannels.com/t/beta...nels/36667

the file already captures chrome window, but now it also retranscodes in nextpvr. is there a way to stop that?

The format is:

nlite.exe -server:{ServerIP}:{ServerPort}:{ServerPIN}

HOWEVER, you can not use the default 0000 pin remotely. You must change your pin to something else.

Quote:can I just use webbrowser and disable transcoding? Is there a way?
No - because web browsers can't natively play broadcast video codecs. They need the content transcoded to H264/ACC for compatibility with web playback. (and even then, there a different levels/profiles of H264 etc, so usually even content that starts out as H264 needs to be retranscoded for playback in a browser.

Quote:Can you pad the buffer more though? I get 25-30 mpbs so should be enough for 1-2 streams
Buffering only helps so much. It's typically only useful to help smooth out momentary dips etc in bitrate. Your connection speed still needs to be fast enough to keep up on a consistent basis.

Buffering is typically in the client side so Kodi can have more buffering than most clients. All UI client like nlite should work if you have the correct credentials

Sending us zipped logs not snippets would help use help you
